Vrije Universiteit Brussel
The team involved in SOPHIE at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is part of the Interface Demography group within the Department of Sociology, which has large experience in European projects on health inequalities. The team is mainly composed of sociologists who achieved ample experience in research on social health determinants and more specific employment-related health determinants. A multiplicity of methodological approaches have been adopted previously: systematic literature reviews, advanced quantitative research techniques, as well as qualitative and participatory approaches.

VUB staff participated in Work Package 3 (Labour market and employment related policies), being primarily responsible for the analysis of cross-national data and collaborating in other activities and country case studies of WP 3 and WP 2 (Welfare and social protection).
